As promised the other day, here's the second (and final) installment of my "Lost" and "Found" miniseries of "Opposites" music posts. Hope you'll enjoy these as much as you did the last ones. Or even more, if you hated those. ~ JH
1) Delerium ft. Jael ~ "Lost And Found"
2)
Lindsey Stirling ft. Alisha Popat ~ "We Found Love" (Nice cover of a
Rihanna song – BTW, Lindsey's the violinist, Alisha's the vocalist)
3) The Fray ~ "You Found Me"
4)
The Wanted ~ "I Found You" (I don't really understand the parental
advisory here – there's a fight scene and some kissing, but it's far
from rated R)
5) Sia ~ "Soon We'll Be Found"
6) Sade ~ "Love Is Found"
7) U2 ~ "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"
8) Mariah Carey, Joe, & 98 Degrees ~ "Thank God I Found You"
9) Gin Blossoms ~ "Found Out About You"
10) Terri Clark ~ "Now That I Found You"
11) Saigon ft. Lecrae & Corbett ~ "Best Thing That I Found"
Here we have a collection of songs
with the days of the week in their titles. Consider yourself lucky, dear
Reader/Listener. I originally considered making individual posts for
each day of the week – with 10 or so songs for each day – and posting
them on the actual days that the songs covered. But that seemed
excessive, and I lost interest in searching that long and hard anyway.
So I ended up doing just two songs for each day of the week. Enjoy? ~
JH

3) The Bangles ~ "Manic Monday"

11) Eric Paslay ~ "Friday Night"
12) The Cure ~ "Friday I'm In Love"
13) Steam Powered Giraffe ~ "Me And My Baby (Saturday Night)"
Here's an interesting collection of songs united only by the fact that their titles contain the word "Wild." No, this is not an "Opposites" post, so don't be expecting a "Tame" songs collection to follow. As usual (for me), a variety of genres are represented here including indie rock (aka hipster music), metal, oldies, country, rap, and just plain rock. Enjoy! ~ JH
1) Royal Teeth ~ "Wild"
2) Skid Row ~ "Youth Gone Wild"
3) LP ~ "Into The Wild"
4) U2 ~ "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses?"
5) Juliet Simms ~ "Wild Child"
6) Mr. Big ~ "Wild World"

17) Iggy Pop ~ "Real Wild Child (Wild One)"
18) The Troggs ~ "Wild Thing"
19) Common ft. Lily Allen ~ "Drivin' Me Wild"
20) Kylie Minogue ft. Nick Cave ~ "Where The Wild Roses Grow"
They say to write what you know. Well, I might not have written the songs in this collection, but I can certainly identify with the sentiments expressed here. Let's get crazy! ~ JH
In case the title of this post isn't obvious (and it probably isn't what you thought at first), this is a collection of songs with "Bad" somewhere in their titles. That doesn't mean the songs are, in and of themselves, "bad" songs. Some of them might be, some of them might not, depending on your (or my) tastes. You probably have guessed this already, but there will be a follow-up to this post, featuring – you guessed it! – a collection of "Good" songs. Enjoy! ~ JH
1) Michael Jackson ~ "Bad" (you knew this one would be here, right?)
2) Glee Cast ~ "Bad Romance" (this "Glee" cover of Lady Gaga's song is cleaned up a fair bit, and far less racy than the original song/video)
3) George Thorogood And The Destroyers ~ "Bad To The Bone" (Whether or not George is actually bad to the bone is irrelevant; one thing's for sure – this dude is UGLY!)
4) U2 ~ "Bad" (There's no "official" music video for this one, but this live version is AMAZING!)
5) Bad Company ~ "Bad Company" (Culled from the files of the Department of Redundancy Department)
6) Daniel Powter ~ "Bad Day" (Powter had a bad day when he realized he'd never again have a song as successful as this one)
7) Bon Jovi ~ "You Give Love A Bad Name" (This song is brought to you by my wife, who's always been a big Bon Jovi fan – it's gotta be the hair...)
8) Meat Loaf ~ "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" (In baseball, two out of three is fantastic – and impossible to maintain throughout the course of a long season)
9) Dominique Pruitt ~ "He's Got It Bad" (For you country music fans out there – or country/rock, or rockabilly, or whatever this is)
10) Creedence Clearwater Revival ~ "Bad Moon Rising" (To those of you who thought they were singing: "There's a bathroom on the right" – they weren't!)
11) Inner Circle ~ "Bad Boys" (Whatchu gonna do when they come for you?)
12) Meiko ~ "Bad Things" (Apparently, this song was recently featured on one of the Real Housewives series on Bravo; Meiko's a terrific singer, and she deserves better than that)
13) Jim Croce ~ "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" (For those of you with "virgin ears," Croce does use "the D word" five times in this song – but it's a classic, so I'm still posting it)
My earlier post today included a song by Maroon 5, which got me thinking...how many bands with numbers in their names are out there putting out good music? As it turns out, there were quite a few. Here's just a sampling of what I found, in ascending chronological order...
1) OneRepublic ~ "All The Right Moves"
2) U2 ~ "Beautiful Day"
3) 3 Doors Down ~ "It's Not My Time"
4) 4 Non Blondes ~ "What's Up"
5) Ben Folds Five ~ "Brick"
6) Eve 6 ~ "Inside Out"
7) Seven Mary Three ~ "Cumbersome" (Two different numbers in one band name – nifty!)
8) Hot 8 Brass Band ~ "Ghost Town"
9) Nine Inch Nails ~ "We're In This Together"
10) 10CC ~ "I'm Not In Love" (Wait, this song again? Apparently so.)
