A Baker's Dozen Of "Good" Songs

As promised earlier, here's a collection of otherwise unrelated songs which all bear the word "Good" somewhere in their titles. Enjoy!  ~  JH

1)  Better Than Ezra  ~  "Good"  (Back in the day, this was my jam!)

2)  Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen  ~  "Good Time"  (I'm a big Owl City fan, but this isn't my favorite song of his; it is extremely catchy though)

3)  OneRepublic  ~  "Good Life"  (The official music video looked and sounded better than this one, but it didn't edit out a certain offensive word like this version does – it's a better song without it anyway!)

4)  Chris Malinchak  ~  "So Good To Me"  (Any music video that prominently features a giraffe is alright by me!)

5)  Michael BublĂ©  ~  "Feeling Good"  (This guy's voice is almost too smooth; I keep waiting for him to strain to hit a note – nope!)

6)  Frank Ocean ~  "Swim Good"  (I've heard a lot about this guy, but never listened to any of his songs before now – not bad!)

7)  Kimbra  ~  "Good Intent"  (Quirky female pop singers will be the death of me – or at least the death of my bank account [not really, but sort of])

8)  Daughtry  ~  "Start Of Something Good"  (Another good song by a great band)

9)  Nelly Furtado  ~  "All Good Things (Come To An End)"  (How true that is...)

10)  Kenny Chesney  ~  "The Good Stuff"  (I've never heard this song before today – it almost made me cry [not really, but sort of])

11)  Carrie Underwood  ~  "Good Girl"  (Get it, girl!)

12)  Shania Twain  ~  "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!"  (A YouTube user made the following comment on this video: "Her styling [here] is an example that you can look fierce and classy, instead of looking like a freakshow, aka Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, and Nicki Minaj!" So true!)

13)  The Beach Boys  ~  "Good Vibrations"  (This post wouldn't be complete without this classic summer song)

BONUS TRACK:  (Because I can, that's why...)

Trip Lee ft. Lecrae  ~  "I'm Good"

A Baker's Dozen Of "Bad" Songs

In case the title of this post isn't obvious (and it probably isn't what you thought at first), this is a collection of songs with "Bad" somewhere in their titles. That doesn't mean the songs are, in and of themselves, "bad" songs. Some of them might be, some of them might not, depending on your (or my) tastes. You probably have guessed this already, but there will be a follow-up to this post, featuring – you guessed it! – a collection of "Good" songs. Enjoy!  ~  JH

1)  Michael Jackson  ~  "Bad"  (you knew this one would be here, right?)

2)  Glee Cast  ~  "Bad Romance"  (this "Glee" cover of Lady Gaga's song is cleaned up a fair bit, and far less racy than the original song/video)

3)  George Thorogood And The Destroyers  ~  "Bad To The Bone"  (Whether or not George is actually bad to the bone is irrelevant; one thing's for sure – this dude is UGLY!)

4)  U2  ~  "Bad"  (There's no "official" music video for this one, but this live version is AMAZING!)

5)  Bad Company  ~  "Bad Company"  (Culled from the files of the Department of Redundancy Department)

6)  Daniel Powter ~  "Bad Day"  (Powter had a bad day when he realized he'd never again have a song as successful as this one)

7)  Bon Jovi  ~  "You Give Love A Bad Name"  (This song is brought to you by my wife, who's always been a big Bon Jovi fan – it's gotta be the hair...)

8)  Meat Loaf  ~  "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad"  (In baseball, two out of three is fantastic – and impossible to maintain throughout the course of a long season)

9)  Dominique Pruitt  ~  "He's Got It Bad"  (For you country music fans out there – or country/rock, or rockabilly, or whatever this is)

10)  Creedence Clearwater Revival  ~  "Bad Moon Rising"  (To those of you who thought they were singing: "There's a bathroom on the right" – they weren't!)

11)  Inner Circle  ~  "Bad Boys"  (Whatchu gonna do when they come for you?)

12)  Meiko  ~  "Bad Things"  (Apparently, this song was recently featured on one of the Real Housewives series on Bravo; Meiko's a terrific singer, and she deserves better than that)

13)  Jim Croce  ~  "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown"  (For those of  you with "virgin ears," Croce does use "the D word" five times in this song – but it's a classic, so I'm still posting it)

Some Songs By The Guys From The "An Evening With Reach Records" Concert I'm Going To Tomorrow Night

I've got my ticket, and I'm heading to "An Evening With Reach Records" tomorrow night at the World Overcomers Church in Durham, NC. I'm super-excited!

In case you don't know, Reach Records is the premier record label for Christian hip-hop and rap music, of which I'm a huge fan. I went to see the original lineup of Reach Records artists – including Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashii, Sho Baraka, and PRo – in concert at the Dorton Arena in Raleigh about two-and-a-half years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Tomorrow night, I'll be seeing Lecrae again, as well as the two newest members of the "116 Clique" (as they're affectionately referred to), Andy Mineo and KB. I'm a big fan of all three of those guys.

In my eager anticipation of tomorrow night's concert, I'd like to share with you a few music videos of songs by these three guys and some of their associates. I hope you'll enjoy them, but please don't feel obligated. If you're curious about Christian rap, watch the videos. If you could care less, then don't watch them. Here we go...
